I don't really want to know the procedure, but the theory behind it.

I only understand that it has something to do with having a higher rpm when shifting gears? I dont know.

  1. I remember that heel-toe proceedure in the old days was more related to getting a power boost with controlled traction, or braking in a controlled manner with the engine. Saved the brakes, and avoided lock-ups.

    A ballet move.

I generally ended up using the gas pedal to match RPMs of the engine with the transmission shaft because my clutch was shot...a different ballet move altogether...

  2. Whole foot at once......................

Basically you don't want to use the engine to brake while coming out of a turn.   You want to rev up the engine so that when the clutch engages, the car is not jerked (slowed down) when you really want to accelerate.

    good Luck...
