How do you help someone who is avoiding being successful?

What words of wisdom do you offer to someone who 'never lives up to their potential' and always finds a way to do poorly?

some people are natural unachievers (like me) no motivation will help

It's sad, but you can't help them.

You can try and help them understand that they have a lot of potential and could be really successful, but that's all that you can do.

They have to be the one who decides to help them self.

I was like that... I was used to do everything poorly, and my father always told me to do everything I do with my 120%.... now he is dead and I have this empty inside of me that I never listened... and I think that that’s why I’m tired to be mediocre... and now I’m trying to do well the things I do...

I know that in another circumstances I wouldn’t have listen to anybody, so I will tell you that this person will not listen to you no matter how wise are your words... but if you have to tell him something anyway, tell him that he must try to live his life with the certitude that later he will not regret for not doing things right... because there will be a point in his life when he will stop to ask himself what has he done in life... and he will have no answer... and it might be too late to change it... In my case I wish my father was alive to see how I'm doing things right now...

Encourage them and let them know how much they are worth! See if there is anything that you can do to help.

your going to have to sit them down maybe stand on a balcony at 1am in the morning watching the stars and tell them, you only have one life and that you need to live it and not watch anything pass by. they need to be inspired maybe if they have an idol or something, tell them that they will be proud!
