How do you hit enemies up into the air from the ground in marvel vs capcom 2 [arcade]?

I'm talking about doing a ground attack like an uppercut that flies the enemies into the air to do air combos. How do you do it? For arcade.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.  I haven't played it in forever, but coming from my basic knowledge of fighting games, I'm going to say Down+punch for an uppercut.
