  1. you need to expand  your lungs so that they can hold more oxygen. Practicing holding your breath for as long as you can will be your best bet. Try to hold it for a little longer each time (or at least for the same amount of time) slowly building your way up.

The least amount of movement you make the longer you should be able to hold it because you are not pumping as much blood with needed oxygen. If you keep your heart rate down your body should be albe to go for longer.

There is also the psychological aspect of it. Even if your body can go for a long time your brain my not want to. That just takes practice too.

  2. umm just stop breathing?

why would you want to do this?

  3. To hold your breathe for long periods of time, you need to hyperventilate prior to holding your breathe. Take 4 of the largest and longest breathes that you can by making your stomach go all the way in and then all the way out. Then after the last exhale, breathe in and hold. Then when it starts to fell like you cant hold your breathe any longer, start to slowly let some of the air out of your lungs in about 3 sec intervals. Hoe this helps, Im a diver to and when I got my license, this is how they taught me to do it and it works very well for me. The more you practice this, the longer you will be able to hold your breathe, I can hold my breathe for about 2 min. Good luck.
