How do you hook an mp3 player to a 07 Harley Davidson Ultra classic?

i wonder what kind of cable is needed to hook up the player to the Harley

A standard cable, male two ends will plug the mp3 into the aux jack in the fairing or radio... then use the aux feature on the radio. We just did this on a '08 street glide.

check with your local harley dealer..they will sell you a genuine harley wire...

There are a couple ways you could look into, the easiest way to get a direct answer would be to swing by a stereo place and ask(about the permanent connection)

1. There are a lot of FM transmitter connectors, so you plug into the power outlet, and set it to whatever radio frequency you want. makes it easy since there is no permanent connection to wire to the radio.

2. Either a generic headphone connection type(plugs in your mp3 player headphone jack) from your stereo.  I'm not an expert, but imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find a tutorial on how to wire your stereo, or have the thing installed at a stereo place if you aren't comfortable doing it.

The FM transmitters are an easy way for cars, but don't know the power adapter situation on the bike....

David K is correct. If you go to techmount.com you can get a holder for your player that mounts on your handle bar. I have one and it works very well.

Plug it in to the radio. There is a plug on the right side, the cable is just a single prong from the MP3 player.

Put it in the clear map holding portion of your tank bag or just in your pocket.  Get some sony ear plug style earbuds.  Get a super quiet full face helmet, Icon is the quietest for me.  Works great up to 80 mph and then the wind noise drowns it out, but I havn't run across many Harleys doing 80.  If you have one of those loudass Harley mufflers forget about it.
