I have a really old tv with the twin terminals--my problem is there's a brown antenna wire and a gold one--do I hook them both into the adapter or just one? It seems either way I do it I'm still only getting 1 or 2 channels--sometimes I get more but they don't last--eventually I get the "no signal". I did the "set-up" ok--thx!

you may need a better antenna the link above works good.(2nt link)

also check out the hd transmitters near you. (first link)

  2. You need a balun (BALanced to UNbalanced) transformer. Twin terminal ribbon cable is 300 ohms and a coax socket is 75 ohms. Go to Radio Shack, they'll sort you out. You've only got 'til February next year so hurry.

  3. The problem is that the TV stations are still in a state of change.  I have converters for my analog TVs and they correctly identify the local stations broadcasting digital signals but cannot receive a usable signal from those channels.  I solved the problem by leaving the converter connected but turning it off.  I still receive the local channels as well, perhaps better than before.  We also have been notified by the local channels that even though they have DTV, they have reduced the signal strength and will strengthen it in 2009, as mandated.
