  1. Put a solid concrete base down.  This will stop vermin from nesting under the shed.  If you are putting a wooden shed on concrete lay bearers across for shed to sit on. Attach a strip of roofing felt under these bearers to stop rising damp.

  2. Concrete or wood? It makes a difference!

  3. Where we live..a building permit is necessary.  The engineer will look at the site & your plans. I wouldn't pour any concrete until you know what is required & Legal.

  4. i would just pour a floating slab for a shed...dig out the sod and put in a 2x4 form with wooden stakes and add gravel up to the bottom of the form and fill with concrete...

  5. Go to DIY.com or HGTV.com and look for the info.  You have to have good water drainage around the shed year round, and fairly level ground.  Allow room for expansion.  Building a shed can be a daunting task if you are alone and it is biggger than you are tall and longer than 8 feet.  Definitely check into aluminium sheds or pre-fab wood ones, but not the tiny plastic ones.  It is all up to what is your time worth to you, how comfortable are you with building one.  ADD all the extra costs up then compare materials.  Do not skimp on materials.  Stain it or you will lose it.

    good luck,

    Wes
