How do you ignore someone knocking on your door when your lights on?

I just can't pretend not to hear, what can I do to ignore there constant banging.

Unless they're yelling police or Landlord,make sounds like you're "gettin' it on"...they always walk away...Like I say loud, "Oh baby, Oh yah,  don't stop , then groan, stuff like that. Always works, then again,  you can always quick get naked , throw openthe dooor real fast and say very nasty "WHAT"? If this happens often,though, I'd invest in one of this little video deals that let you see the banger  just go into a Radio Shack or store like that and check out their survelliance equipment selection

I agree with Jesse. Just don't go to the door. If you turn off the lights, it's too obvious you're home & avoiding them. I hide behind my refrigerator if I think they can see me through the windows, or crouch down on the floor. The constant banging is another thing. Plug up your ears, or call the cops as an extreme measure. Good luck.

Just ignore it.  They can't see through walls.  They'll give up eventually.  You could always answer and see what they want, then they might not knock again

lol thats what we do at halloween because we always forget to buy candy so we give them vegetables, but my dad doesnt like giving our veg away so mostly we ignore the door!

perhaps you could answer the door how do you know whether it is unimportant!

well you could always try my bfs approach... we had some Jehovah's witnesses come to our door really early on his first morning home from major surgery, so he decided to scream incoherently at them until they left lol I think it might have been the meds its was funny though

I installed a remote controlled blow torch by my door.  I can "ignore" someone knocking on my door by pushing a button.

one of my old neighbours used to get frequent visits from an old bird up the road. generally this is what would happen...

one of the kids would see her coming down the road, they would run inside and alert every one else. the front door got closed and we all found hiding places where we could not be seen. she would yell and yell but no one would make a sound. eventually she would go away.

this method may work for you or you may possibly be able to adapt it to suit you. it all deends where you have windows and bwhether your curtains are shut or not. obviously if your curtains are open and the person has seen you, you cant ignore the knocks. alterately, keep a pair of headphones handy and if the person can see you put them in your ears and dance around the house as if you are listening to music, dont look in thier direction and eventually they will get the message that you cant hear them. if it is someone you know and they ask about the lights being on later and they havent seen you thru a window, just tell them u were in the shower and didnt hear it.

you could also try installing a security camera near your front door, this will give you a heads up that someone is coming and you can see who it is and hide if you need to.

just say you were in the bath...had just got in it...and couldnt come to the door...............next time, say you were on the phone taking an important call, next time, say you were in the back yard...and didnt hear the knock............ :)
