How do you import videos from a sony handy camera to windows movie maker?

Every time I try, it freezes. Ive looked all over the web, but I still cant manage to find a solution. The videos are saved as .MPEG, is there a way I can convert it to something that will work on windows movie maker? Or is there another way I can make it work? Please help!

  1. Convert your MPEG files to WMV which can be imported by Windows Movie Maker with Total Video Converter which is very easy to use. http://www.newfreedownloads.com/Multimed...


  2. Windows Movie Maker can't handle MPEG-2.  You can either convert the footage to something that WMM can handle (try Super) or get a better editor - most commercial editors can use MPEG-2.  If video quality's important to you be prepared to buy a new editor.
