Today my Dad just bought me a new flip and I was wondering how I import videos. Like, what do I click on to download them? Do I have to have a certain application?

  1. haha macintosh is a cool name.

  2. You don't import them... you copy them like any other file copied from an external device.

The problem is that the highly compressd MPEG2 files are not in a format that iMovieHD can understand, so the video files need to be converted.

    Download and install StreamClip

    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/vi...

Then, after copying the files from the camcorder to your Mac, you need to convert them to something iMovieHD can understand... DV, .mov, .mp4... Then drag the translated/converted files into the clips pane or the timeline and edit...
