  1. well if you do strides(100-110 meter sprints) a lot it will expand your lungs and help your breathing.  my long distance coach use to make us do 20 of these on mondays and you can only have 20 seconds rest in between. you cant go over that or else it wont help you.  so just do as many as you can the first time you try this(if you decide to try this) and if you are breathing really hard its working just so you know but keep doing them even if your breathing is really getting hard unless your to the point where your about to collapse on the ground(or pretty much do as many as you can without making yourself pass out). it helped me improve my mile time a little over 2 minutes in 2 months.

  2. it may be how much you want to improve. if u really want it, mayb it will happen.... willpower baybay

  3. i have to do a mile for school bin the fall and spring

in the fall i got  9min and 45 sec

i signed up for the school track team where we had to do sprints and miles every day for 2 mounth i got beeter and better

in the spring my mile was 6 min 10 sec due to hard work.

  4. running 3 to 4 times a week alone will not help you it needs to be  AT LEAST 5 times a week. also when you do run, run longer than 20 minutes. any less and its pretty much pointless to do. The key to running faster mile is train for endurance gradually increasing your weekly mileage ( no more than 3 miles above the week before) do that for a couple months  then put in some workouts  such as shorter harder runs or 400 intervals. tempo mile repeats. if all else fails start running cross country and track.
