How do you incorporate a ribbon into a running braid?

i already can do a running braid but im getting a black horse and think it would look really nice to have a nice light ribbon for the next show. does anyone know how to secure it at the top?

You can use a plaiting band to secure it at the base of the first bunch, otherwise you just put it in and plait it in so it holds itself ( sounds weird but it does work with practice.)

When you do the forelock, i like doing mine in the little bob/rose/bun thingy, slip the ribbon under the elastic band that secures it. Then add it in as a section of hair.

the short version is

just put the ribbion in with one of the strands.but make surethe ribbion is long enough to go to the endthere are a coupple ways to attach the ribbion

tie it to the fore lock and bring it under the crown pice then braid

tie it to the crown pice

or tie it to a pice of mane
