Question:

How do you increase your running speed?

I'm a cross country runner and am told I need to increase my speed. I'm usually able to outrun others in a race because of my endurance. I think I'm a natural disadvantage for speed because I have shorter legs.

I have endurance, but not speed. I just can't seem to run faster. Is there any way for me to train to increase speed?

  1. Just keep running .. practice makes you better.

    Run Forest .. Run!

  2. Try doing a couple hundred meter sprints at the end of your long runs. And if you only do long runs, change up your work out every couple days and do a sprint work out. This will let you keep your endurance but it will also help you gain speed.

  3. do intervals at a 200/400m sprint.
