How do you install a cartridge into a Moen pullout faucet?

Everytime we install the cartridge, the water squirts out the side. It is either hot or cold, cannot get both to work at the same.

Call Moen - they have great support.  They'll tell you what's wrong & probably send you a new cartridge at no charge.

squirts out of what side ?   is this an shower/tub  ,Lav  or kitchen  faucet ? you might be damaging the seals on the side of the cartridge .use some vaseline  if you don't have plumbers/faucet grease .
