There are four wires that connect to the coils. Where do they connect? Although there are numbers in the wires 3, 1, I suppose for the firing order. But is the firing order from left to right or right to left?

  1. Your best bet is to get a service manual for this bike.  I got one for my bike on EBay.  It was the best $25 I spent on my ride.

The manual I got was from Clymer.  It gives step by step instructions to do just about any maintenance take I need, including wiring.

  2. Firing Order is 1-2-4-3

#1 is Left Cylinder (when sitting on bike)

    ........... Front..............

    Left   {1-2-3-4}  Right

    .........................................

The coil mounted on LEFT of bike fires #1 And #4

The Right hand coil fires #2 & #3

Electrically,,there's no difference between Each Coils  2 Wires---Each coil's 2 Plug Wires spark at same time.

Plug Wire length and Connector Shape(on Some bikes--Your 600 are all the same plug connectors),,,are usually what PHYSICALLY determines which wires  for a single coil go where.

    .........................................

Here's a pic that may help.

You can see COIL #1 is "Left Hand Coil",,,,and goes to Cyl's 1 &4

    Coil #2,,,goes to Cyl's 2 &3

I dunno if it's so confusing its Simple,,

    or So Simple it's confusing,,LOL

Really,,it's simple and Ya can't go wrong

    ONE Coil= 2 Inside Cylinders

Other Coil = 2 Outside Cylinders

The ONLY "catch" is that the POWER WIRES to the Coils must Each go to it's Correct Coil.

No Prob there,,'cuz all the wires are Color Coded.

Only reason I mention that is because after a few years,,it's Possible that Anything could have happened.

Such as somebody along the way Replacing a Coil with a different one,,,,like 2 Left Coils or whatever.

    RULE # 1 is always,,,

Make Certain the Cyl Pairing is Correct for Each Coil.

    1&4 and 2&3

If somehow that doesn't seem to work,,Check the wiring TO the coils for right color match-up with harness.

Switch the Power Wires if necessary.

If You're just changing 1 coil ,,or doing them 1 at a time,,

    Ya can't go wrong.

    Good Luck,,hope that helps
