  1. first off, you download it.

    at the very bottom of the page, there is a link to click - "Launch Web Messenger"  - that will open the web version of yahoo messenger...one you do not have to download.

    I would have put the direct link, but it's a javascript link & it wouldn't have worked anyway.

  3. some instant messengers (Like AOL IM Express -- www.aim.com) can run directly off of the computer. Try that.
