  1. I don't have to justify anything.  Unless you are the father of the baby or the woman in question, it's none of your business.

    ROE V. WADE baby.

  2. Matt:

That's very easy for you to say seeing as how you're male and you've never been in a situation that would necessitate an abortion.

I'm female, and while I don't believe I would ever opt for an abortion myself, it's not my place to judge another woman's decisions.  I will leave that up to God.

  3. Are you really asking a question in search of answers or simply "asking" a question in order to post your opinion?

In any case, you believe it is murder. You believe life begins at conception.  There are millions of people who disagree with you, including those on the Supreme Court.  For many of us, conception represents the possibility of life, not life itself.

  4. What about an unfit parent trying to raise a child  and ******* up their childs life because they weren't ready to become a parent. How do you feel about having to pay for others peoples medical? Thats what happens, our tax dollars pay for them you know.

  5. its easy to condemn a person as a murderer for killing the fetus but in extreme curcumstances like rape, it is nessesary sometimes. If it happened to you, you would have a very different opinion.

Abortion should only be used if your raped. I've seen some girls get have their lifes ruined raped at the age of 13. What is more important, the girls life, or the spawn of the rapists life?

  6. if you get raped you dont want to carry around a baby that some p.o.s. gave you i hate abortions but i would if i was raped and was a girl

  7. To start off, I would like to say that in cases of rape and the like, could the baby not still be put up for adoption?!?!? I think that abortion is only justifiable in the minds of the ignorant and selfish who could care less for the life of a living being.

---(And for those who think it's okay, what if your mom had decided to abort you?- think about that!......if you can think...)

  8. I agree.

Even if you get raped, punishing the child will do NO good.

  9. I have no idea how anyone could justify abortion.  It's murder, like you said, and in my opinion there's something seriously deficient in the minds of those who see it as okay.  People will believe whatever they want to, though, and come up with all sorts of ridiculous excuses to do so.  God help us.

  10. Rape because it is not a choice to be assaulted and to live through a pregnancy when raped is adding to the abuse.  If a woman is in danger due to health than abortion (why should both die).  If the baby has a severe disability, it is very difficult, expensive and a great hardshp for everyone when a child is severely disabled.

  11. No. It's not. Please keep your views out of Yahoo Answers.

If you are unwillingly birthing a child, you can WILLINGLY have it aborted. Thank you.

  12. I believed the same thing for a very long time! However, I recently loosened up a bit on my opinion. While I still think it is ABSOLUTELY wrong to kill your baby just because you're a s**t who slept around and got knocked up, I do think it is perfectly okay to abort only if you have been raped. The baby was in no way shape or form your fault, and you definitely did not plan it nor ask to be raped, so you can abort the baby.

However, I also think that as long as you are saving a life with your baby one way or another it is okay. What I mean is that, okay fine, a s**t who slept around and is quite possibly poor is in no condition to raise a baby, and we all know the bad reputation foster homes have. Still she should not kill that innocent child UNLESS she is using the stem cells from that child to potentially save or prolong millions and millions of lives.

You see, stem cells are freshly created cells - they have no purpose yet. They can be genetically turned into brain cells (which then could be inserted in the brains of those suffering from Alzheimer's, curing them!) or nerve cells (which could be used in the same way to cure those who suffer from Parkinson's)

So in my opinion, yes abortion is wrong. By aborting a baby you are stopping a life and therefore murdering your own flesh and blood. However, if you are in no shape to provide for a baby, and you do desperately want an abortion, it is okay to have one as long as you make some good come out of it. When you have an abortion and just leave the fetus to die, it does no good to anybody and is just a life wasted. But when you give the fetus to science, it can be used for the benefit of millions, and is in no way a waste.

  13. I justify it perfectly. This fetus, reminder fetus not baby, has not yet taken a breath yet, not yet cried, not yet burped, not yet even made a bowel movement, thats not life, being in the woom doesn't make you alive, you are preparing to be alive. Until you have seen the light of day and taken that first breath, you are not alive.

  14. this is america abortion cannot be justified but people still do it and it will never stop ....maybe the person that have an abortion ..knows for sure she does not want a child  for financial reasons., or does not want to be a single mom..(and theres alot of single mothers out here )..maybe she is not   ready to have a child .so thats when abortion..come in..when the pregnancy is early enough the baby  is not human an embyo...this is america let the women decide...is her body...

  15. I think a woman should be able to choose only when her life is in danger, incest, rape, or like choi said the baby has a life debilitating illness that would cause more suffering then not. Other then that, I don't know how else you justify abortion.

  16. the only time I can justify it is in cases of rape, incest and health to the mother or child.

  17. Abortions are gonna happen whether it's in back alleys with infected coat hangers or in the doctors office...

This is a futile discussion. People know what they want, people believe what they need, and people act on their beliefs.

  18. My opinion, take it or leave it, is this: The government is terribly flawed: The foster and adoption system is flawed, planned parenthood is REALLY flawed, post-traumatic care for rape and incest victims, is of course flawed too. I am 100% against abortions except in the case of an ectopic pregnancy where there is no debating that the mother WILL die and the fetus will NOT be viable.

In my perfect world abortion would be illegal, people would view a fetus as a person and not "a potential person" (what does that mean anyway?).

At this point though, before we can make abortion illegal it has to become a) nearly unnecessary and b) completely unthinkable. That is, proper care for people traumatized by rape, a better foster/adoption system, birth control awareness (46% of abortions are performed on girls who aren't using contraception). And hey what about that whole abstinence thing? sounds like a good idea to me strange that planned parenthood doesn't believe in abstinence-only education, yeah, lots of people will have s*x anyway so it IS good to get the birth control message out there, however abstinence IS the best way to prevent pregnancy so I think it should really be encouraged more than it has been. Also the realization that an unplanned pregnancy is NOT the end of the world, and that size, level of development, environment and degree of dependancy does not define someone's personhood (if we aren't people at conception, when do we become people?).

Also the back-alley abortion argument is pretty weak seeing as abortion rates have skyrocketed since roe vs. wade (and in my case, being Canadian, the morgentaler decision). And just because abortion is legal doesn't mean there are no back-alley abortions. Yes, maybe some women will seek dangerous means of terminating pregnancy if abortion becomes illegal, but most wont. Plus there are women who die every year from "safe", legal abortions. And the number of people dying from abolishing abortion will be nowhere near the 1.3 million people who die from legal abortions every year in the U.S.

1% of all abortions are due to rape and incest, however, even with such a small percentage it is still probably the most heated ongoing debate existing today. First of all the chances of a woman getting pregnant from rape is  very minimal, she would have to be ovulating at the time of the rape, the man would have to ejaculate, which he rarely does in rape situations, and even if a woman has been raped and becomes pregnant, the majority of the time the stress caused by the event will cause a spontaneous abortion to occur, it's more likely to become pregnant in the event of ongoing sexual abuse. What irritates me about this issue is that killing the rapist is called murder, but killing the child is called "therapeudic". Abortion doesn't rectify the rape, so rape can't justify abortion, you're killing an innocent person. And as for the poor girl who was raped at fifteen and attempted suicide multiple times. I feel for you, I know about depression and suicide from personal experience and i know that's a terrible, terrible place to be, but it i'd think the rape would be more horrifying than carrying a child for nine months then putting it up for adoption, you lived through the first, so with lots of professional help you could have overcome the second had that been the case.

I'm a pro-life chick 100%, but I try my best not to be judgemental. I'm more about preventing unplanned pregnancy and supporting women who have chosen life. It's hard when I truly believe that a fetus is a living person and when i see so many innocent people dying. All of you have made some excellent points as well, it's hard not to get all fired up about this sort of thing, but calm discussion is the best way to accomplish anything so let's try to keep our minds open and our words polite =).

  19. First, what is your real point?  Killing a pregnant woman is homicide.  Depending on which state you live in, killing a pregnant woman and her unborn child is homicide and feticide.  Abortion is legal, get over it.  I hope you are just as compassionate about the hundreds of thousands of children who die due to poverty and war.

  20. abortion beats having the child and then putting in the trash or something.  that happens so why not get on the women who do that?

if it isn't your child, it isn't your business.  you don't like abortion, then don't have one but don't you dare neglect the child once it's born.  personally, I am against abortion but who am I to tell someone else what they can and can't do.  if a woman wants to have an abortion and you tell her she can't, are you going to raise that child for her?

  21. An abortion is a choice that a woman has when she is faced with an unwanted pregnancy.  Murder is when a person (a tangable person) is killed.  Enough said!!!!

  22. As always abortion is a last resort, but there's always going to be situations where it is the best option. I don't believe in the government telling women what they can and cannot do with their body. To me thats just getting way to personal.

  23. Rape, incest, or known life-debilitating illness.

  24. How dare you judge someone's decision to abort a pregnancy after rape especially as a male?! How arrogant.

  25. agreed

  26. Abortion is a legal way to reduce the population and cut back on the burden to society that unwanted children create.  The planet will house 10 billion people soon and everyone wants the "American Dream."  Just wait and see what happens when things get more crowded.

China has the right idea.  Place an absolute cap on the number of children people can have.  Let people work out what kind of child they want, it's the ultimate culling effect.  Handicapped, mentally disabled, whatever, the parents get to decide what kind of child they want to raise.

By the way, how do you justify taking a bunch a fertility drugs when you can't get pregnant, then push out a litter of five or more kids, and call it the will of God?

  27. It is not for me to justify, it is a personal choice...I personally couldn't do it but then again i have never been faced with this

  28. your very opinionated aren't you?
