Question:

How do you keep RealPlayer 11 from losing the music files in my library?

I have a library of about 1500 songs in my RealPlayer library. Sometimes if I click on too much stuff at once I get a box that says: "RealPlayer has encountered a problem and needs to close." Occasionally (about twice a year) when I reopen RealPlayer after this happens up to 80% of my library is GONE and I have to scan my hard drive to put the titles back in, meaning I have to retype a bunch of information in order to manage my playlists. This is very time-consuming. Does anybody else have this problem and, if not, am I doing something wrong that is making RealPlayer crash like this? I also have to redownload the player several times a year, but it usually remembers my library content...nevertheless, it is a pain in the rear to spend this much time doing things over. I have Superpass and am paying good money for the EQ, reverb, and music overlapping. I am trying to build an online radio station and I want to use Real but I can't keep re-doing stuff all the time!

  1. I don't use real player i use MP 11 and store my music in "my music" folder and transfer what i want to the library on a temp. basis, you've probably over loaded the library?

  2. like you said it happens when you click on too much stuff at once, Don't do that, easy enough ?plus Realplayer has always had a lot of bugs, look into getting something else ?
