Here in florida, its about the humidity, not the heat. How can one keep cool in this weather and prevent excessive sweating by just standing outside?

  1. drink cold drinks and move very slowly

  2. Being from the gulf coast, it is virtually impossible to really keep cool and stand outside.  You will sweat.  The above suggestions about clothing and shade are good.  Windy days are best.  Use a fan or better yet stay inside during the middle of the day.  If you want to do something outside at a tolerable temperature, go early (before 9 am) or late (after 7:30 pm).  Good luck.

  3. What I do is try to stay in the shade if possible, wear loose and light colored clothing, and I drink plenty of fluids. I know this for a fact because I live in an area where it gets very humid as well in the summer and I have to go outside a lot.

  4. I would just drink cold drinks and don't try to do any running around crazy like my friend's brother does. Humidity can make the air sticky and uncomfortable. Good Luck.

  5. You got it all mixed up. In hot weather you can not both keep cool & prevent sweating.

You WANT sweating when you're hot -- that's how your body cools itself.
