I am in school and there is no air conditioning. There is a heat wave and the tempereature is going to hit 100 degrees. At 7:00 in the morning, it was already 80 degrees. How do I keep cool?

  1. Note that the air in the middle of the day will be 100 degrees, warmer than body temperature, so you can't cool yourself with this air, even if it blowing past you. But the air at 7 am is only 80 degrees. So you need to let as much cool air into the school as possible during the night, leaving windows open, and then trap this air in the school during the day. Shut all the windows at about 8 am, and cover all the windows on the sunny side with white sheets to reflect back the sunlight so that it doesn't get into the school.

  2. You could try using large box fans in your windows and even keep a small spray bottle near and give yourself a spritz every once in a while. Oh, and also another little treat would be to eat ice cream or just suck on ice.

    Hope these help! :)

  3. Run cold water over your wrists as often as you can

    helps some

  4. go naked!

    no just kidding...

    -wear light clothes like linen.

    -drink water.

    -eat cucumber

-dont wear hats or bandannas (heat escapes through your head)

    -dont sit in direct sunlight.

    -take off your shoes

    - make a fan and fan yourself

  5. I wear sunglasses and say cool things all day.

  6. I never use A/c cause I'm cold in the winter, I dont want to be cold in the summer too...I just keep the exhaust fan running in my house, and its fine for me

  7. drink LOTS of water- get your hair off your neck, and if possible keep your hands and feet cool- that will help cool you off over all.

  8. hello here are my suggestions:

    1. Wet your wrists and other pulse points with cold water. Use a piece of ice wrapped in a face cloth, to continue after the coolness wears off. Never use just ice; make sure it is wrapped in a towel or something similar. Studies show that this will reduce your core body temperature by as much as 3 °F (1.5 ºC). The relief is almost immediate, and will last for up to one hour!

    2. Use perspiration to cool the body down. Water vapor produced by sweating actually takes heat away from your body if it is exposed to air and allowed to evaporate

    3. Wear a short sleeved shirt and put water on the sleeves. If there is a breeze or fan blowing on you, you can actually get cold. Use a squirt bottle, the sink or hose if outside to keep your sleeves wet. If you are outside and wearing long pants and you put water on your legs, the water will cool your legs.

    4. Drink water, even if you are not thirsty! You must replace fluids lost in perspiration to prevent dehydration

    5. Go downstairs. Warm air is less dense than cooler air so it ends up layered on top of the downward moving cooler air. If you're in a house, for example, get lower than the roof.

    6. Keep the air flowing. i hope there is a ceiling fan on your class.

    7. Get wet! Take a cool shower or bath. Wet your hair. Fill a basin with water and sit with your feet in it. Put a wet bandanna around your neck. Fill a spray bottle or squirt gun with water and spritz yourself. Run cool or cold tap water on the inside of your wrists. The water will cool down the blood flowing through your veins and arteries.

  9. I think something like that should be brought to the schools administration by the parents. there is such a thing as heat stroke, and other respiratory problems. I think its a shame to think that students and teachers could concentrate on there work in these kind of unhealthy conditions. There is got to be a way to have students makeup for the lost time. Have it reported.

  10. Mind over matters. Get it?

  11. either go swimming or wet yourself down and sit in front of a fan

  12. Drink lots of water, bring in a personal fan and spray bottle, wet a face cloth and put in on your head and neck, wear baggy t-shirts and athletic shorts and flip flops, wear your hair up.

  13. take deep breaths very slowly

  14. s***w that, go home lol

drink lots of water so you dont dehydrate if you cant escape..

  15. take cool showers then sit in front of a fan drink plenty of water. gl

  16. you could get yourself a personal fan

  17. PUT YOUR HEAD FLAT ON THE DESK AND GO TO SLEEP

  18. I don't know where you are, but when i first arrived in Australia as a child and the weather reached just under 100 anything from 80 actualy , we used to be told from the day before to stay home, and a lot of outdoor workers were told to finish by lunch time and go home or had the day off.

Now we have air cons everywhere and i find it cruel that there i still places expecting children to go to school in such conditions?

I don't understand it is dangerous!!!!!!! You guys need to rebel at least your parents need to do something about it! For the moment i really don't know what to tell you, when you are in a huge public place it is up to the people in charge to do something*
