Question:

How do you keep curled hair looking brushed?

I've always had this trouble where I will curl my hair with a curling iron and go out. But then it needs to be brushed. I brush it and the curls flatten or are ruined.

How do I fix this problem?

Thank you.

  1. brush it before you curl it

If you want it to look imperfect but wavy you can finger comb it

  2. No, that's quite impossible.  You cannot flatten or ruin the curls if you brush your hair -- if it was curled correctly.

Of course, if you go outside, you are going to run into situations where the environment will affect your hair.  The ONLY thing that will re-arrrange your curls is moisture -- water.  Once the hair is properly dried, it will stay that way.  Brushing can only make it look better.

If it's long, it has more opportunities to get messed up.  Shorter hair will always stay in place a lot better.

  3. if u come out your hair, air will get in. usually air and water are what brakes the hair cuticle from it shape so if you get the air in their it will flatten out no matter what...as a stylist i recommend that you should brush you hair really good before you start curling and when curl it, try to curl it carefully section by section with tangling it, that's what i do and it always work! good luck

  4. Use a styling cream or a gel (strength determined by what kind of hold you want). Also, you can try a smoothing serum. This product smooths the cuticle. The hair will still curl.

If you have a style that you want to keep for the entire day (minimal movement), use a stronger gel, dry, curl, then use a strong hairspray.
