They always get crunchy after they cool down.

  1. The best way is definitely to put them in tupperware with a couple fresh slices of bread.

  2. The guy that said bread was kind of right- but the real secret is in the baking. If you want them to stay soft and chewy you have to take them out of the oven when just the edges start to brown. Also using shortening instead of butter really helps.

  3. make sure you layer a container with fresh bread, layer of cookies, layer of bread etc.  Will keep them good and moist but the bread will dry out. Cool your cookies before placing them on the bread.  The cookies need to be touching the bread to draw the moisture from it.

  4. Butter always helps that, and Crisco. It makes it softer.

  5. keep them in a tightly sealed container with slices of bread. keeps 'em nice and chewy. my mom is a culinary genius.....

  6. yes the tupperware and bread works

But also if you reheat them in the microwave they become soft again

  7. I know this might sound stupid, but this is what my mom does. Put them in a large ziplock bag and put bread in with them. They stay a lot softer and chewier. I know it sounds stupid but it does work.

  8. I suggest that you eat them all up before they get hard!

At least that is what happens at my house, never any left-over.

Enjoy with a big glass of milk!

  9. in the container where you keep your cookies, put a piece of white bread in there, it will help keep them moist

  10. Take two or three minutes off the baking time and store them in a closed container :-)
