How do you keep roaches away from dog food or keep dog food from attracting roaches?

Ok, let me explain further...my house is clean and they are not coming in my house, my surroundings are perfectly fine...the dog food is outside and within the last 3 weeks has started attracting roaches. It is not about my house it is about the attraction the dog food has on roaches and and any ideas how to prevent it.

That's a tough one.  If it's a rented property, tell the landlord.  He should call an exterminator.  Explain that you have a pet and take all the precautions they advise while they fumigate.  If you own the home, call an exterminator if you can afford one.  Shop around and get recommendations.

You might try just setting the dog's food down at certain times - breakfast time, supper time.  Remove the bowl from the floor and wash it between feedings.  Keep dogfood stored in an airtight (roach proof) container as well.

OK - knowing that - what you say about where your dogfood is:  get some Borax (Borateem) from the grocery store and sprinkle a ring of that around the dog's dish.  It won't hurt the dog but roaches will not cross it.

move out of that house.. that is disgusting, roaches carrie disease and you shouldn't be having pets if you can even take care of you own surroundings...

Only feed your dog what it will eat in one sitting. It'll take some getting used to, but you can train your dog.

If you're going to keep your dog food outside, put it in a sealed container. A garbage can won't do it. I use a dog food container that has a s***w-on lid and will hold 40 lbs of food.

If the roaches don't have any food, you might get lucky and they'll go away.

i dont want to sound harsh but it might help to clean ur house a bit or block all the gaps were the little pesks get in or move ur dog food somewere else but my best bet would be to clean the hose
