How do you keep tobacco fresh in a tin?

It was a cabbage leaf in my day, but the trick is to avoid letting the cabbage touch the tobacco.

put a tiny piece of potato peel inside the tin...not too much or it will ruin the tobacco....think this also works with a bit of lettuce in the tin.

the best method is use a sliver or slice of carrot , leave in the tin with tobbaco , change slice every couple of days , you can use potato peel , apple, mushroom , but carrot works best as it does not go soggy nor does it alter flavour of tobbaco ,

tobbaco smoker for too long !!
