Question:

How do you keep vegetable glycerin soap from distorting as it cures?

I've made some in the past, from the packs you can buy at arts and crafts stores, and two years later, they are noticeably smaller, and they rock when placed on a flat surface (they've curved).

Also, just a single bar will "sweat" moisture a couple of days after pouring the soap, but all the other bars are dry to the touch.

Any ideas on these two (related???) problems? Thanks.

  1. I think your problem is just the nature of glycerin soaps. They warp/shrink,  due to the moisture/humidity  in the air .

Glycerin is a humecant (sp) so it's going to attract moisture, thus the sweating. But I only do CP , so I'm not an expert. :)
