Question:

How do you kill green algae in a vinyl above ground pool?

i've tried algacide, shocking the pool, backwashing it, cleaning the filter, skimming the pool, picking up debris nothing works. any ideas are gladly appreciated.

  1. If you can maintain a chlorine level of 1 ppm for a long time, that should do it.  You will need to test regularly to verify that the level is appropriate.

  3. pool grade chlorine , the acid in it will kill the algae

  4. A lot of chlorine and continually brushing the algae off of the walls and floor of the pool is really the best way.  As the algae settles, vacuum it up, and add more choline.  Keep doing that until the algae is all gone and make sure no one swims in the pool while the chlorine levels are so high.
