How do you knit a stockinette scarf? ?

pls help. Pls give a me basic steps (like What kind of cast-on, etc.) I really want to knit a scarf and it's my goal to learn it before December starts. It kinda takes me a long time learn

Well, the simplest cast on, the backward loop wrap, is not the best one for any knitting.  You want to learn how to do either knitting on or a long tail cast on for the neatest edge.  You'll want to use worsted weight, smooth yarns, and size 7 or 8 US needles.   You will cast on about 8 inches of stitches, and keep the outside 5 stitches on either side in all knit stitches on both sides to help keep it from rolling in.  Start out by knitting (only knitting) the first 10 rows of stitches, then you will work the pattern, knit all stitches, on the next row, knit 5, purl to the last 5, knit 5 and alternate these two rows until the scarf is as long as  you need it to be (plan on using at least 2 balls of yarn).  Then knit all the stitches for 10 rows and cast off by knitting 2 stitches, taking the first knit up and over the second knit and off the needle, knit another stitch, lift the last stitch over and off across the row.  When you have one stitch left on the right needle, cut the yarn about 10 inches from the stitches and pull it straight up through the stitches.  You can now weave in your ends and wear your scarf.

To do Stockinette Stitch, you must alternate Knit rows and Purl rows.  

Cast on the number of stitches you want.  that will show you how wide the scarf will be.  then knit 1 row, Purl 1 row
