  1. mmm...try to listen to some music or watch some tv to get it off your mind.  knitting is a great hobby that helps you relax, and me and my friends actually get together to do it sometimes. it helps to talk and have fun when you're knitting. basically, just practice more and stick to the basic stitches. you'll have a masterpiece in no time!  it takes patience and a long time, but it will be well worth it in the end.

    good luck!!!

  2. try knitting on big needles with chunky yarn that will make things go faster. also your a beginner give it time the more you do it the faster you will get. you could also try knitting Continental style withe the yarn in your left hand. try lionbrand.com or knitty.com for instructions. hope this helps

  3. lol Ask MY GrandMA

  4. Practice...and ask your mum or grandma. They will give you the tips.

I know it sounds crazy but take up drumming or some needlework.

Treat the knitting needles as martial arts weapons and twirl them in your fingers.

    Practice. Practice.

  5. Use larger needles. The larger they are the quicker it'll be. size 6.5 usually works for me. (I think that's UK measurements). Also, if you knit will VERY fluffy wool, It'll hide all your mistakes!!

  6. It takes time for your hands to learn the movements used while knitting.  Be patient and practice; before you know it you will be buzzing along and won't even have to look at your work (knitting seems to go much quicker when you can watch television or talk to friends while you do it).  You may never become a "fast" knitter, but it will become more natural to you in time.

You may want to start a smaller project, like a hat, so that you can get some "finished object" satisfaction more quickly.  Also, if you feel some instruction on your technique, www.knittinghelp.com has helpful videos that you can access free of charge that are very easy to use.
