How do you knit numbers into things?

im knitting a golf club cover for a friend but he wants the number 3 on it but i dont know how to knit letters or numbers into things yet.

  1. I agree with the other poster. If you need help, look up "duplicate stitch" and it should show you correctly how to make the stitches look like knit stitches.


  2. This is called intarsia and you need to wrap your yarn for the number around a yarn bobbin so that it can hang at the back of your work while you continue on with the pattern.  Below is a link to explain this method.

  3. you have to take a contract colour wool to make a symbol of 3. this is to be done whilst knitting. or the easiest method if  you cannot incorporate or making of the number 3 whilst knitting. Use a contrast wool, thread it in the cross stitching needle, and in the cross stitch method make no. 3 on whatever you are knitting, whereever you want.
