  1. Most, buddy, will be locked with DRM to a specific region. Just assume it.

  2. i cant be sure but with PS3 games and blue ray DVD's they are region coded, if your getting a PS3 game the region code is on the back..a little black square with a little globe and a number...i would think that they would be coded because companies do it so that people can go from US to Canada and get cheaper items.

  3. Jim B is the only person that's given you the correct answer. There are three regions, A, B and C.

Every Blu-ray Disc has to be region-coded, but they can be coded for 1, 2 or 3 regions. Hence a Blu-ray Disc that plays in all regions is "All Region Coded" and will have a small symbol on the back showing A, B and C all in three hexagons joined together.

Most new day and date releases from Disney, Sony and Fox are coded to the region of release. Warner has been coding everything "ALL REGIONS" so you can import their releases from wherever you like. Paramount and Universal I haven't looked at since they started releasing on Blu-ray.

Here is a great website you can use to find out if a title you're interested in is ALL REGION or not - http://bluray.liesinc.net/

The Blu-ray Disc Association specifies that any title printed one year after its initial run MUST BE ALL REGION CODED.

  4. Unlike DVD's that have regions 1 to 6.

Blu-ray regions are; A, B and C. Look for those on the boxes.

A = North America, Central America, South America, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia.

B = Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, plus all of Oceania.

C = India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mainland China, Pakistan, Russia, Central, and South Asia

  5. They are region locked in the same way as Std DVD's are: rest assured whatever is sold in the US will be for NTSC region 1, and whatever is sold in the UK will be PAL region 2.

look on the disk or on the label; for a small globe with number 2.
