  1. The thickest metal string should be the very top string

  2. Lowest note string would be closest to your nose.

If it is a righty  the tuners are on your LEFT side (the normal way).

If it is a Lefty, the tuners are on the right side (my way)

  3. When you pick up a right handed guitar, the long stem part will be in your left hand and the thickest bass strings will be nearest you.

  4. The strings are backwards.

  5. pick it up and try playing and if you are a righty and it feels right then its a righty guitar

    vise versa for lefty

  6. the fattest string should be at the top. So if the fat string is at the top and the head is to the left, its a lefty......if the fat string is at the top and the head is to the right, it's a righty

  7. The top of the body will be cut out on one side to accommodate either the right hand on the neck, or the left.  The guitar will also be strung accordingly, with the low E string closest to you.

  8. While holding the guitar on your lap with the neck facing to the left, if the thickest string is on the top(closest to you), then it is a RIGHT handed guitar. If it's on the bottom, then it's a left handed guitar.

  9. The fattest string will be on the bottom if you hold it like a righty.

  10. Stand the guitar up facing you with the head of the guitar pointed at the ceiling.  Look at the strings... if the bass strings are to the left, then it is right handed.  If the bass (thick) strings are to the right, then it is left handed.

  11. The biggest string is on top, and also the slot for your hand

  12. The big string should be towards your face if you're holding it.

  13. i think it is about what hand u mostly do with

  14. Hold the guitar with the thickest string on the top and the thinest on the bottom.

If you strum the guitar with your right hand, it's a righty.  If you strum with you left hand, it's a lefty.

Most guitars are rightys...hope this helps!!

  15. haha,

    i learned from guitar hero.

when the tip of it is in your right arm is lefty.

when you have to play the top part of it with your left hand.

well if you have ever played a guitar im guessing your right handed.

so the way that you usually dont hold it is lefty.

  16. strings are strung in the opposite order (fattest string on top) and frets are played with the right hand instead of left (strumming/picking with left).

  17. Let's say you lay the guitar on the ground, stand at the bottom of it looking towards the tuning nobs.

If the biggest string is on the far left, it's a righty. If it's on the far right, it's a lefty.

If you're right handed, you hold down the frets with your LEFT hand, and play with your RIGHT hand. Reverse 'em for left handed.

  18. a righty guitar is where you strum with your right hand and you hold the frets with your left hand. A lefty guitar is where you strum with your left hand and hold the frets with your right hand. Try a lefty gutiar and then try a righty guitar and then see what one feels more comfertable

  19. the difference is the strings.....you have to string a guitar upside down then flip it to play left handed. The thickest string on the bottom, the thinest on the top, then flip it over to where the thickest string is on top. Any guitar is right or left handed, it's all in how you string it.
