How do you know if a tornado is coming at night?

i know how you can tell if a tornado is coming at day time but how would you know if a tornado is coming at night????????

Well I can feel it brewing in the deeps of my innards and I send out a warning signal with a couple of small toots and if nobody takes cover it blows out.

well its basically the same only darker to see and usually tornadoes calm down when its later at night. BUt you will still see the same signs. Windy Windy air, when trees are swaying and then completley stop...thats not a good sign. And always be sure to watch the weather until you know everything is fine.

Since tornados are pretty diffcult to see at night, there are only a couple of different ways to know if one's there before the sirens go off. The tornado sirens will sound only if there is  a tornado watch, which means that weather conditions are very likely to cause a tornado, or a tornado warning, which means that a tornado has been spotted!

well last night i had a tornado warning but i never had a tornado, just strong winds, & very heavy rain but the sky was like black unstead of dark blue  plus if u hear like a train noise (if its not a train) then that MIGHT mean ones coming too

weather radio and  tv warnings. if you have those and want to see it, look outside. you can see it with flashes of lightning and if it hits a power line (which is highly likely) you will see a small explosion which will light it up. if there is a tornado and you wait for the train sound, its too late. that means its really close. and even then, tornados do not always sound like a train. just listen to the radio or watch tv.

You should by a weather radio and it will sound in your room if there is  a tornado warning for your area. if you are sleeping its good to have.

Communities in tornado zones have sirens and test them often.  So if you sleep with the tv on.....might wanna change that habit.

I used to be a tornado freak. We live in the country (no tornado sirens here) I had panic attacks every time it stormed so I got aquainted with knowing everything about tornados. Really you can't tell at night, if you hear the TRAIN sound (it sounds like a train) it means its close and you may not have time to get to safety. What I do is if it is storming I use the internet and check the dopplar for my area, if it shows the red area coming over my area we get ready to head downstairs, it is really accurate. Otherwise, just listen for that train sound. ~
