  1. I've seen real tornados and I graduated a course in meteorology. There are a few things to watch for. The first would be a green sky. This is caused by ice particles in the clouds and tornados are often preceded by a green sky. Another thing is a cloud formation called mammatas. These are clouds that look like women's b*****s (hence the name). Do a Google search and you can see what they look like. Watch for rotation in the clouds and also watch for updrafts. If a bunch of leaves and whatnot suddenly lift off the ground and head upwards then the air is getting very unstable. Tornados start out as horizontal "tubes" of rotating air and updrafts will cause them to flip and become vertical. They generally track in a northeasterly direction (note "generally" - they have been known to make complete circles). In the days when TV's were hooked up to antennas you could turn your TV to channel 2 and darken the picture til you could just barely make out the "snow" (video static). If the picture suddenly brightened it usually meant there was a tornado in the area.

  2. you can watch the news!!!

or you can buy a emergency radio and it will go off when there is a tornado that is close or something like that?!?!?!?

when the sky is looking discolored start watching the news like if it is greenish or some other odd color

  3. If a tornado is in your area the winds will get very strong.  That is when you need to head down stairs if you have a basement.

  4. maybe you can make an emergeny kit thing with a radio thing batteries and stuff you might need.

look out for green skies leaves flying and wierd looking clouds
