How do you know if its a <span title="ghost......................?">ghost.......................</span>

every night for the past week, I have been hearing footsteps and strange noises in my kitchen the noises wear like weird screaming and banging noises ,There has recently been construction in my house. but I still hear it!!!I see things move also!On TV ppl meditate to see if it is a ghost does this work!! how do I know for sure its a ghost!!!! answers quick!! xx

If it is a ghost than the construction must be making it pretty angry.... you should also see if your house was build on top of a grave or a burial ground,or maybe if someone died in your house,and you should also hire a psychic and a priest to calm the ghost down.Now in my opinion the meditating thing doesn&#039;t work all that well with people that are just starting.

And if i&#039;m not right(about it being a ghost) it could just be the construction, too.

It sometimes works but meditation and using a Ouija board can be dangerous because it attracts both the good and bad.  Construction or redecorating a house can disturb spirits because they are used to the way it was.  Before you continue, I suggest you look at some sites like www.paranormalstate.com (A &amp; E channel) or Ghost Hunters (http://www.scifi.com/ghosthunters/) for some explainations.  I suspect if you have spirits, they have been there for a long time and have not harmed you so I don&#039;t think you have to worry about them hurting you.

I believe the strange noises: maybe the wood and other material contracting and expanding from changes in temperature, or something in the water pipes or heating and cooling system. I don&#039;t believe the screaming. That&#039;s just what you imagine a sound to be. I don&#039;t believe anything moves; unless it is something very light that can be moved by a slight breeze: like curtains. If you are seeing anything else move, you are hallucinating due to an overactive imagination. The TV people are fakes; making a buck. You know for sure it&#039;s not a ghost because there is no such thing; except on TV, movies, or stories.

i think the noises you hear are because of the recent construction not because it woke up ghosts but because the structure is resettling a very very slight settling will make popping, creaking,groaning sounds (some very loud), will make pots&amp;pans rattle even sound like someone is walking across floors

The same thing has happened in my home. Don&#039;t panic. If they have not tried harming you ye, your fine don&#039;t worry.

But if it trurly frightens you you can call a physic median. Look thru your local phonebook. If your phonebook dose not have anything, try Yahoo search engine and look for investigators for the paranormal. You are dealing with spirits.

If you have had building work done sometimes if it is an old building the work will unsettle a spirit that has been there for some time.  I feel you have an older gentleman from spirit  there. I say gentleman as I feel that is how he was when here. He was actually quite well to do. I don&#039;t know what was on the site of your house before  but he lived in the vicinity. Don&#039;t be concerned he won&#039;t harm you and I have a feeling he will soon be on his way so it won&#039;t happen for much longer.

The noises could be a lot of things but one thing that cannot be causing them is ghosts or spirits.  You see, while no one can prove the existence of spirits.  Do you know why?  Because if you do believe in an afterlife, which I do, there is one very important thing to remember.  The physical cannot enter the spirit world and spirits (if they can exist in the physical world) cannot be physical.  

In other words, anything that can affect our physical senses must be physical.  So, spirits cannot.  If you hear any sound it is caused by vibrating air.  Air is physical therefore it can only be vibrated by something physical  If you feel a sensation, your never receptors can only feel physical sensation. If you smell something it is caused by molecules in the air if you see something it has to refract physical light.  So whatever it is, no matter how mysterious it is not a ghost.

For those who claim it is energy, energy is also of the physical world.  That is why no matter what kind of measuring devices you use you cannot detect when a persons spirit departs upon death. We know they are alive, we know when they are dead but we cannot measure the actual spirit.  It is that way because our instruments are physical and the spirit is not of the physical.

Once someone dies there is no bringing them back.  Even if you instantly use whatever means to make the heart beat, the lungs breathe, the blood circulate they are still dead.  

That is the spirit and you cannot see, hear, touch or smell or taste it.
