How do you know if? ?

If your answer is going to be positive or negative when you multiply or divide positive and negative numbers...?

if you multiply two numbers one is positive, one is negative, the answer is negative, if they are both positive or both negative they are positive because of the absolute number. hope this helps

if one of the numbers is negative and the other is postivie than the answer is going to come out negative. ex. -7x6 = -42

if both the numbers are negative the the answer is going to be positive. ex. -7x-6 = 42

a /  -b = negative number

-a / -b = Positive Number

-a x  b = negative number

a  x -b = negative number

where

a and b are the given numbers

/ means division

x means multiplication
