  1. Third person is when there is almost like a narrator telling the story, as opposed to first person when the story is told from a character's point of view.

Harry Potter, for example, is written in third person.

E.g. FIRST person: "I walked to the shops and I bought an icecream."

THIRD person: "Jess walked to the shops and bought an icecram."

Do you get it? Thats how you can tell in a book. If words like "I" "my" and "me" are NOT used. If it seems like someone exterior is telling the story.

  2. This is third person:

'She looked out the dark window into the moonlight night, sighing silently to herself.'

    This is first person:

'I walked down the beach, staring out into the bright blue ocean.'

    This is second person:

'You walk into the forest, looking out through the trees.'

    Hope I helped!!!

    xoxo

  3. first person is "I"- I went to the store.

second person is "you"- You went to the store.

third person is "he, she, they" or using the name- Kim went to the store or He went to the store.

  4. 3rd person- he/she/it. You know it's third person when the narrator never refers to themselves as I, or when they know everything that happens.
