I hear some echoes and other sounds that phases in and out. What should I do to get the wiretap off my phones and can cellphones be tapped too?

  1. echos, etc are not a sign of a wiretap. there are no way to tell with out physically inspecting your line if there is an illegal wire tap on your line.

your trouble is caused either by an unbalanced pair (outside trouble) or a cheaply made phone, or a combination of both.

Call your phone company and have them perform a line test on your line for an induction trouble, if they get a poor test they will send someone out to repair your line.

for your second question, while cell phones are at the present moment only able to be tapped by law enforcement, crackers may eventually find a way to hack into your cell phone conversations, after all, a cell phone is just a radio transmitter/receiver.

  2. I had that problem.  I was hearing our neighbor's phone call echoes on our phone during a conversation.  I just called our home phone company and they came down and fixed it the next day, no charge.
