  1. If they were in the marines they will know the secret signal that

was in force during their final year, it consists of a unique arm

position and four different sounds, if they don`t know them

    they`re telling porkies.

  2. Pulling Your leg

No one and I mean no one ever forgets Their number

A Person is using this every day especially the last four digits

I had a nephew like this and his Father was the same I think when their life is a little empty they tend to exaggerate many times the story grows in the telling Often when they are stuck for answers they fall back on "Cant tell You"

They never have any Photos [They were stolen ]

No discharge Papers [They were in a fire]

    Just ignore what is said

    edit

Look If this is serious and You really need to know

What are Mess Tins for example They are what they eat the food out of when away from camp

another is When You see Military marching there is a word of command to make them turn 180 It's "About Turn"

In basic Training to help with the placement of the feet there is a sequence which resembles T.L.V

  3. He's lying I'm afraid.

My husband is an Army officer. It doesn't matter how secret their work is or has been, there isn't a Soldier/Sailor/ Marine or Airman on the planet who won't bore you to tears for hours with tales of his exploits. When he can't tell you exactly what he did or does (because he would have to kill you), he'll tell you every detail of his training, of his exploits on exercise, of his experience of deployment...and their number is virtually tattooed on their heart!

  4. As has been said, ask him his number - no serviceman/woman who has been in a number of years ever forgets it.

  5. Ask them what the regimental motto is. Which company were they in. Where did they do their basic training?

Oh and what's the name of the commando march? (Sarie Marais is the answer you will expect. EVERY marine knows that)

  6. Can I suggest you put this in the military section. I know the real folk hang about there so you will get an accurate response then

  7. their general level of personal fitness would be a good indication.      And I'm not talking about "gymnasium" fit, I am talking about real fitness.

If they keep talking about being in the marines, chances are they aren't.
