How do you know if the umpire favours one player over the other?

I know they choose an umpire from a country different to the players but he/she may still have a favourite. I know if it were me, my favourite player is from another country to myself and I would still favour that player than one from my own country.

You don't really know. The umpires are suppose to be fair and make accurate calls. This reminds me of a match when Hewitt questioned the umpire whether he was making calls better for James Blake because they were both African American. I doubt that was the real case though.
