Well, guys can continue to have babies much later in life than women can.  For women, it's recommended to have babies before the age of 35 to decrease the risk of birth defects and complications with pregnancy.

As for knowing who's right for you... it's true what they say: You just know.  It sounded cliche when people used to say it to me, but when I met my husband, I just knew we'd end up married someday.  

Depending on your age, you may start to feel your "biological clock ticking", but don't rush into a relationship with someone you don't really love.

You don't know if you'll ever meet a person that you want to share your life with.  So, stop waiting for what might not be.  Stop wasting time looking for it.  And, instead, live your life as it is now, joyously & will all of your energy.

If, in doing that, you meet someone who you want to share your life with, then you will know it is real, that they want to be with you, not someone who they hope you will be or someone who you're pretending to be.  Make sure that you know who & where they really are, too, before accepting them into your life.

If, though, you don't meet someone who you want to share your life with, you will have the contentment of knowing that you lived well, anyway, with every minute you had - not wasting any of it wishing for something that wasn't meant to be.

How old is too old to have kids?  That's really up to you & your heart.  You'll know when it comes time to decide.

I'm not sure if there is ONE single person out there for each and every one of us.  I think there are times or phases in your life where you are more receptive to meeting someone on the same path as you are with a fair amount of attraction.  My thinking is that you can find someone to love you but can you find someone to love you the way you need to be loved?  Relationships are fluid - they are never going to remain the same as the day you meet.  The most important factor for me was shared values and perspective on life.

Too old to have kids?  It depends on the person.  I was 37, 41 and 44 respectively for my 3 kids but that's the way it worked out in my life.  I didn't plan it that way.
