How do you know if they take points off?

I got a traffic ticket in NY about 1 month ago for running a red light by the NASSAU COUNTY police. I got a letter showing the fine which is 160 dollars. But it doesn't say anything about points. How can I find out if they took points off or no?

I dont know about points.  But as far as points in insurance (if thats what you mean)  it stays on your record for 3yrs.  It should not affect your rate unles you have had a few violations.  I hope this helped.  I am only speaking for WA state insurance rates.  But I think all are fairly similar.  $160.00 not toooo bad.
