  1. Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odorless gas.  Breathing it causes lethargy, hallucinations, unconsciousness and eventually death.  If your home has a gas or wood stove it's a good idea to have a carbon monoxide detector.

  2. You can tolerate very little CO2 . The correct level of oxygen is 20.9 . The lower limit that OSHA recommends is 19.5 . Now that is pretty tight tolerance. If it gets very much below 19.5 u will pass out,and fall on your face and the CO2 would more there as CO2 is very heavy and u could die. It the CO2 was as high as the environmentalist the people that live in the low Vallie's would be dieing.

  3. You should be aware that we breath CO all the time.  a major component in the exhaust of internal combustion engines as well as gas stoves and heaters.  It is the concentration that kills us, where we are unable to get enough free oxygen to migrate into the blood stream necessary for life to continue.  The problem with CO is it bonds extremely tight to red blood cells.  The only way to protect your internal environment is as others have mentioned get a good BATTERY powered detector for your home AND make sure the exhaust system on your car is in good working condition.

  4. The effects of breathing carbon monoxide are headaches, nausea, and eventually sleepiness and death.  If you are concerned you may be in danger, the crack your windows open and go purchase a detector.  They are very inexpensive and can save your life.
