okay i had this same thing.

go to someone you know will be honest, maybe someone who knows music well. like a choir person or something, and ask them to be completely honest with you no matter what. make sure they really know you wont be offened by any responses they have. so this way they wont feel bad for being honest. lol. well hope this helped =]

you can invite your friends to your house and sing to them.ask them if you are a good singer at the end.

Why not make a test tape or CD? Then send it out to various agents.  Or just let friends play it for friends that don't know you. Let it be a song that most people are familiar with, of course--not some art lied in German.

Or you can just make a tape or CD and listen to it yourself. Do you sound good? No fair making the tape in the bathroom!

Many people thinking that listening to themselves works to see if you are a good singer. I wouldn't suggest it cuz you might think you sound great. The true way to see if you are a good singer is to test your voice out with someone else=D

Anybody can sing but frankly, being able to sing does not mean you can sing well.  I can sing passably well but I am not a great singer by any means. That takes talent and training.

find a friend who's a singer/knows a lot about music and ask for their honest opinion and make sure they're someone who will actually give you their honest opinion. don't be discouraged though. at first my voice was really bad, couldn't sing for long without having to breath. as long as you are willing to practice a lot (having a good ear for music would help too) you will continue to improve. everyone's window of improvement is different obviously, but you never know!

If you're old enough to be on here, you'd have probably heard about it by now.  Folks would definitely tell you.  Anyone sitting near you when people are singing knows if you can sing.  People would have said something to you.  If they haven't, try composing instead.

If you've never ever been in a group of people who are singing, go find an audition at school this term, or sign up for the school choir.  They'll let you know.  Soon.
