How do you know if you have a cleaning OCD?

Since I had my baby I have made sure there are no dishes piling up in the sink, my sinks are cleaned almost daily. I keep the bathroom toilet spotless and the sink clean too.

I am not sure if I'm just a clean person or if I'm borderline CLEANING OCD. How do I know?

  1. ocd will take over your life and you will not be able to relax untill everything is just so.

Are you unable to relax because you are thinking of the 1 million things you could be cleaning or organising.

Do you get stressed if things are not exactly the way they should be and you just have to get up and fix them.

Is your partner constantly telling you to sit down it can wait?

If so possibly you have OCD . I have had OCD since I was a teen and it completely rules your life. Get help from your Doctor as it can lead to anxiety and Depression.

    Hope this helps

  2. i dunno, i think its an ocd if your need to clean prevents you from getting on with your everyday life.

Like, i like a clean home, i wash the dishes 2-3 times a day sometimes, i vacuum like once a day, etc.  I just like a clean home, and i think my husband thinks i am a bit extreme, but i definitely have a life.  Cleaning fits in around my life, not the other way around.

  3. 8 loads per week is excessive and wasteful.  Just cleaning up after yourself is enough to keep a house clean and do a big clean once a week. Other that you sound like your bored then anything else.

OCD just doesn't happen, its something that a person already has, and is diagnosed by a doctor.

Other then that you like to have a clean house.

  4. You are just tidy.  OCD is a serious mental health issue.  Only a qualified doctor can diagnose it.  I truly doubt that you have OCD.  You just seem to be cautious due to your baby, which is a good thing.

  5. If your mind is completely set on cleaning and cleaning alone, then you have CLEANING OCD.

Everyone gets a little worried about how messy their house is; you can always skip a day of cleaning.  Or what I do, is reserve one day of the week every week and clean the house.  I hope this helps you a little.
