  1. An exam by a doctor. A fecal exam would reveal some sorts. A blood test some others. A tissue exam some others. Worms live in all three environments: circulatory, digestive and muscle tissue.

  2. Haha, funny that the two answers are Obama and Hillary but I'm gonna have to go with the big O guy on this one...go to the doc and check it out before it could possibly get worse.

  3. Hi!  First let's be clear that there is a difference between maggots and worms.  Maggots are fly larvae.  Although the thought of eating maggots is disgusting, they will not continue to live in your body if you ingest them.

    Tapeworm is the main cause for concern in undercooked pork and beef.  Common symptoms of tapeworm infection are as follows:

        *  Nausea

        * Weakness

        * Loss of appetite

        * Abdominal pain

        * Diarrhea

        * Weight loss

    You may also notice worm segments, tapeworm larvae or eggs in your stool.

    Your doctor can have your stool sample tested for tapeworms or he can run a blood test to see if your body's producing tapeworm antibodies.  If the tests are positive, you will be given a medication that will kill the worms.

    The effects of untreated worms can vary.  Beef tapeworms tend to stay in your intestines--yes, it's gross, but they'll do relatively little harm.  On the other hand, pork tapeworms produce larvae that will migrate to and penetrate other tissues in the body.  There, they will cause cysts to form.  These cysts can damage the body's organs, thus making untreated pork tapeworms very dangerous.

    If you're really worried/experiencing these symptoms, see your doctor.

    I hope this helps (and doesn't gross you out too much!!)
