Question:

How do you know if you have recieved financial aid for college in Florida?

Do you get a letter or something? I have filled out the fafsa and have not heard anything back. I am really anxious because classes start in a few months. I don't make enough to possibly turned down...

Anybody with any advice will be GREATLY appreciated!

  1. You should receive something in the mail called an "award letter"  this is how you will know what kinds and how much fin aid you will get.  If you haven't heard from them, you need to call your schools fin aid office and find out what they are waiting on.  Usually it's because they don't have somthing from YOU.


  2. Call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243 and make sure your application is complete and it has been sent to your school.

    If it has, call the school's financial aid office and ensure they do not need any additional information from you. If they don't ask them when your award letter will be sent out.

    Most schools that I deal with process applications in the order that they were received and they should be able to tell you what time period of letters they are working on right now and give you a general idea when your award letter will go out.
