do you need a fishing licenses to fish in a public park?

or does that vary from city to city

i live in evansville IN

i can;t decide ather i should go to the lake near the state hosiptal or garvins park

if ur over 16 u need one, and as far as i kno thats for the whole U.S.

as mentioned below - check the states Dept of Fish and Game AND the Indiana State Park system - some parks may also charge an entrance fee for the park or a parking fee or both!!
