How do you know if your bird's eggs are alive?

For example if you have two birds od the different s*x, and the girl lays eggs how do you know which ones are alive and which ones are dead?

you need a special lamp but i think the only thing you can do is leave them to nature if you handle them you may kill them.

Just leave them alone and see if they hatch.  You don't want to stress them out for no reason.  They know what they're doing....
