I have a 530 I BMW with goodyear Eagle tires took it to them they said it is the tire rods. They put it on alift and said you can shake the tire that causes the vibration at 60-70 mph. I thought it was the tire, the car drives great at all speeds except 60-70.

  1. yea its tie-rods

  2. could be yes... ok its not hard to check yourself.. for a tie rod check jack up car and hold tire side to side and shake it if you feel it move good bet its a tie rod... thro it dont make a car shake that offen it can... really.... say when was the last time you had the front end check or had the tires balance? and if some one told you it was tie rods why not think its not.... is easy to check your self by shaking it like i said and you can also look under car when your doing it and see if they move when your doing it and you can always ask another tire shop to check it out by saying i have a vibration i need to find and watch them do the job

  3. The correct terminology is a tie-rod they are located at both ends of the right and left steering arm. If they're loose it'll chew your tires up much less cause an impeding automobile accident. Your talking about your steering linkage here and you've been for-warned there is a problem. The fanciest wheels and tires in the world do no good at all if a tie rod pops loose.

  4. It may be but I would make sure your tires are not out of balance first.  Good way put the rears in the front and the front on the rear the test drive to see if it still happens
