How do you know if your insurance covers brand name prescriptions?

I'm not sure if my insurance covers brand name prescriptions (there is a generic version available but I want the brand name version). How do I know if it covers the brand name version?

Your policy document should contain the specifics of what medications are covered under your case. They should also specify the illnesses and nature of the same under which you have insured protection.

You can find out by contacting your insurance company.  Call their customer service department.  They'll probably say that you'll pay more for the brand name if a generic version is available.
